Chironomid larva, "bloodworms", are present and available to trout throughout the entire still water year, and therefore a staple food source that should not be ignored by anglers. Predominantly red in colour they do also have a green phase that is important to imitate as when the bows are selective having the right colour can make all the difference! The KFC blood & green worm effectively imitates both chironomid larvae colour schemes, and is available in the two common sizes in which they are typically found. This pattern has also proven to be extremely effective enticing brook trout to strike! Tied for you the exact same way that we tie it for ourselves, including on the super strong Daiichi 1760 hook and with a full body coating of Krazy glue, this is a must have OG flyguys pattern that is always in our fly boxes!
